I've been working on creating a patio with a formal french garden ambiance. I started with iron furniture and painted it off white. The fountain and statuary are reminicent of Versailles. I added shells here and there for their beautiful form and color. Then I planted an Artic Kiwi vine because the leaves turn a lovely shade of pale pink on the ends. This will grow up the lattice wall and create a pink backdrop for the patio. The lighting is all lanterns and candle holders such as the bronze and marble mermaid in the picture above. The topiarys add formal stucture and symetry to the semi-circular brick patio space. The edge of the patio is boredered by a semi-circular arbor with pink wisteria blossoms that smell wonderful and underplanted with a boxwood border to close in the patio and make it feel like a garden room.
