Fifi Chachnil

Fifi Chachnil is a french lingerie designer extraordinaire. She has updated her blog recently and it is worth a tour.  There is a really cute commercial for Fifi Chachnil's perfume on her blog  http://blog.fifichachnil.com/  The description of her angora sweater says it all: "Crafted from the lovingly brushed fur of Angora bunny rabbits that frolic freely through the fields of Normandy, France. Fifi Chachnil's Angora cardigans have become a classic and must have seasonal garment amongst devotees. Available in one size for all girls the cardigans button up the front with dainty clear buttons into a sweater girl v-neck design."  What's not to love.

Too Faced Spring 2013 Boudoir Beauty

Love the newest makeup for spring from Too Faced.  All the packaging is pink and gold and looks like Laduree confections are contained within.  The No Makeup Makeup is mainly creams that rub into the skin and look more natural than powders.  Ultra girly and a little naughty on the makeup names, Too Faced always delivers great packaging and a decent performance on their products.

Floral Door Knockers and Stoppers

Over the years I have collected a couple of antique cast iron floral door knockers and stoppers.  The pictures above are some beauties I found on ebay and added to my wish list.  My interest in them stems from my love of Quelques Fleurs perfume.  If you look at my previous post you will see the Houbigant logo is a small basket of flowers.  When Houbigant first set up shop in Paris in 1775, his sign was painted with a basket of flowers.  That became his official symbol and was used on many compacts, powder boxes and perfume labels.  The door knocker on my own front door is from Paris.  It stands as a reminder to fill my home with the lovely frangrance of flowers as often as I can.

Houbigant-Perfumer to the Queen

I have worn Quelques Fleurs since 1986 when I fell in love with it at Nordstroms.  I was just 16 and didn't have a lot of money.  I did, however, strike a deal with my wealthier boyfriend that I would write his mid-term essay for the small price of $38.00...the cost of a small bottle of eau de toilette.  How I wish it was still that price.  Quelques Fleurs has the most intriguing history, worn by royalty and many other famous beauties. It is incredibly floral, as the name suggests, and I sometimes wonder if it isn't patterned off the original fragrance called Petit Trianon created for Marie Antoinette.  It seems to have many of the same notes.

Sorry to all my faithful followers.  I do not have internet at home any longer and it makes it nearly impossible to blog.  Don't give up on my yet...I will post as often as I can.
