A few years ago I bought beautiful pink umbrella from Chantal Thomass in Paris...literally.  She was there, in person.  It was such a pleasure to meet Chantal Thomass, one of my personal idols.  I have always wanted to be a lingerie designer and was so excited that she was actually visiting her shop in Paris that day.  I bought a book from her called Plumes and Dentelle's.  She autographed it with a note: "French lingerie is the best."

Aedes de Venustas Perfume Shop in New York

During my recent trip to New York we stopped in to Aedes De Venustas (Latin for Temple of Beauty) which is the most amazing perfumery I've seen.  Not just for the incredible selection of hard to find fragrances, but for the ambiance the owners have created.  When you walk through the doors, you feel as though you have stepped back in time to a Paris perfumery on Avenue Montagne.  The decor is opulent, mainly golds, plums, wine color with bouquets of sterling silver roses.  Peacocks and fan-tailed pigeons were perched throughout this lush garden of delights.  If you are in New York, it is well worth your time to visit this very fine establishment and indulge you senses in this artistic display of the world's finest fragrances.

Lace Handbags

Last night I had a dream I was shopping for a lace purse.  There were so many gorgeous handbags, I didn't know which one to buy.  How disappointing to wake up and find it was only a dream.  It prompted me to search out available lace handbags to see if any looked like my dream.  Not really.  Maybe the Valentino pictured second is the closest I could come to the ones in my dream.  Maybe sometime I will try to make one myself.
